Join Dear Pariah on an acoustic adventure…
Each month we play host to Dear Pariah and her very special friends.
Described last year as “a salve on frayed nerves” by Get in Her Ears, Dear Pariahs songs circle around her lifelong battle with a disease that has attacked many organs, such as her brain and lungs.
As the journey continues, so does the music. Performing under the moniker since 2012, she has been called "exceptional" by Simon Raymonde, of the Cocteau Twins and received an Emerging Excellence Award by Help Musicians UK, which funded the making of her debut album 'Misc' in 2016.
In 2019, too sick to record music, she instead released a collection of ‘Bedroom Demos’ which received a 9/10 review by Line of Best Fit "an honest collection of beautifully-crafted folk songs. It doesn’t flinch from its subject matter, but nor does it dramatise it" In 2020, she released ‘Live at Thais’ EP which was played by Lauren Laverne on BBC 6Music and recently supported This is the Kit at Folkestone’s very own The Quarterhouse.

For the this event Dear Pariah introduces us to ALMAHATA is a new independent alternative/folk project inspired by the desire for artistic freedom after a few years releasing music as a solo artist. With the name loosely translating to ‘the souls natural sound’, ALMAHATA lie somewhere between indie-pop and old school folk. Fresh off tour supporting 6Music favourite Bess Atwell, they’re not to be missed.
